It was a wonderful evening on 12/7 when the ERSO team gathered for some holiday cheer! ERSO team members celebrated at Tupper and Reed in Berkeley for a cozy and spirited event. The vibe was so cheerful, warm and lovely. Everyone was happy to reconnect with colleagues and build deeper relationships with newer colleagues. It was special to see the level of engagement within the team. It was a perfect start to the holiday season.
Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
Due to the majority of ERSO staff working remotely, we have opted for a virtual food drive this year in lieu of physical toy and gift donations. Every $1 donated to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano provide 2 meals to those who turn to them for assistance. Visit the Team ERSO page here.
Colleagues spent quality time collaborating over a shared meal and lots of laughs on Thursday, November 10. It was great catching up with everyone in person and bonding over pizza at Berkeley hotspot, Jupiter, on Shattuck Ave. Surrounded by great company, it was time well spent!

ERSO team members enjoyed a fun and festive day despite the hot weather on campus. After 17 years, ERSO finally has some swag! Everyone was really proud to gather the fun items and looks forward to proudly wearing the ERSO jackets. Staff enjoyed seeing each other and reconnecting. Hugs were exchanged and smiles were shared. Thanks to everyone who came out to share in the festivities. Special thank you to Julie Tan for coordinating and managing the event. Also, a very special thank you to Erik, Rueben and Ken from our Shipping team who helped so much with transporting all the goodies. They work so hard and are always so pleasant. Even though our out of state colleagues weren't there in person to share the festivities, they received a swag box too and were very excited!

It was a wonderful gathering at Gather for the ERSO team. Colleagues were excited to see each other and spend time on the sun filled outdoor patio. Laughter, hugs, delicious food and vibrant chatter was shared by all. We announced and celebrated our SPOT, Staff Salute and Team High Five Winners. Cynthia provided a business update and overall ERSO is performing very well. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to ADR Karl Van Bibber as he is moving on from the ADR role. We were excited to welcome Tarek Zhodi who will serve as the new ADR starting July 1st.

Effective January 3, 2022, ERSO welcomes Astronomy, Berkeley Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Institute, Berkeley Seismology Lab, Cal Teach, Center for Integrated Planetary Science, Earth and Planetary Science, Math, Physics, Theoretical Astrophysics Center (TAC), and MPS Dean’s Office to our Community.
Over the past several months, staff from the transitioning Department and Units, ERSO staff, and CHaMPS staff have been working diligently to coordinate the transition.
