Q. Where do I pick-up my payroll check or direct deposit earnings statement?
A. Payroll checks and direct deposit earnings statements can be picked-up from 193M Cory Hall between the hours of 9-12 and 1:30-4:30. I.D. is required.
If you have multiple appointments, your check or earnings statement is directed to your “home” department. For example, the check/earnings statement for an employee with a GSI and GSR appointment would be directed to the employee’s GSI academic department. The academic department is considered the employee’s home department.
Q. How do I get a copy of my earnings statement or W-2?
A. Payroll direct deposit earnings statements and W-2s can be viewed and copies printed through the blu self service option. Blu is the campus community portal and it’s your “one-stop” employee resource. The website address is blu@berkeley.edu. CalNet authentication is required. Upon login, select the People tab. Listed under Self Service on the People page are the Earnings Statements and ezW-2 view and print option.
Q. I have a payroll question who do I call?
A.
Last name A – O, Glenda Freberg, 2-9204, gfreberg@erso
Last name P – Z, Sam Guiton, 2-9718, sandrag@erso
ERS-Effort Reporting System, Rebecca Foster, 2- 6381, rfoster@erso
Payroll Services Manager, Glenda Freberg, 2-9204, gfreberg@erso
Q. When am I paid, what are the pay days?
A. GSRs, research academic appointments and career staff employees are paid on the 1st of each month. When the 1st of the month falls on a weekend, then the payday becomes the Friday before the 1st.
Hourly student employees are paid on the 5th working day of each month.
Q. Do I need to turn in a timecard to be paid?
A. Hourly employees must turn a timecard with the hours worked in the monthly reporting period in order to be paid. Timecards must be signed by the employees’ supervisor and left in the ERSO Payroll Services timecard drop box located at 199MD Cory Hall. Timecards are available on the ERSO forms website. Deadlines for submission of time are printed on the timecards.
Effective Fall 2006, GSRs are no longer required to turn in a timecard to be paid. GSRs are paid automatically based on an approved appointment entered into HRMS and passed to payroll. An approved appointment authorizes the appointment dates, rate of pay and percentage of time to be paid.
Q. What is an employee timesheet and who is required to submit the form?
A. An employee timesheet, as opposed to an employee timecard, is required only for employees who are eligible for leave accrual. The timesheet is used to record the employee’s vacation and sick leave usage. Timesheets are downloadable from the ERSO forms website. Employees should submit a timesheet to their supervisor for approval on the last work day of each month. Supervisors are responsible for turning in their employees’ timesheets to ERSO Payroll Services. |
